Salisbury is a northern suburb in Adelaide in South Australia, with plenty of grasslands, shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The story of the growth of the City of Salisbury is a quite rich and exciting. Initially started its life as a suburb occupied with wheat and hay farms, grew slowly around 1940 with the establishing of an explosives and filling factory that increased the population surprisingly overnight employing thousands of people nearby. Salisbury now is a prosperous City with opportunities for everyone from a small business owner or shop owner to a Residential property owner. Transport is all good as several trains run non-stop between the stations Salisbury and Adelaide, local buses also connect Salisbury Interchange where many of the city workers park their vehicle to commute by train.

Recently the Salisbury City Centre is undergoing an ambitious renewal program to expand housing, shops, community centers, green lands and transport. Buying a house in this area is quite affordable as compare to rent. Rental Housing is rising and with proximity to Adelaide, no doubt in the coming times Salisbury will become quite expensive.
Shopping
Initially opened around 1977 and then redeveloped recently, Parabanks Shopping Centre is the main retail zone in Salisbury located at a small distance from Salisbury Interchange. Parabanks Shopping Centre contains Woolworths, Big W and Coles as its signature merchants with many other specialty stores. Other close by major local shopping center are Elizabeth City Centre, Hollywood Plaza in Salisbury Downs and Munno Para Shopping City.

Restaurants
There are numbers of restaurants, cafes, clubs and pubs in the City of Salisbury, that cater for each and every taste covering nearly every type of cuisine supposable. Because of its multicultural community one can enjoy different types of tempting foods from around of the globe, in Salisbury.

Salisbury Plays, a new campaign by the City of Salisbury encourages people from all the ages to come outdoors and enjoy the green parks, playgrounds, trails, and wetlands in the City and runs during school holidays. The school holidays bring a grand opportunity to discover the places where you relax, play, or do exciting things. The St Kilda Adventure Playground is one of the most popular family attractions, free to visit, and provides hours of activities and enjoyment for kids as well as for adults. There is lots of family entertainment to keep the families amused here all day, still if you want some change, check out the amazing Tram Museum just by the road where trams really run between the Tram Museum and the playgrounds.
